Job Summary
Manage Program Engineering teams to plan, research, and execute projects while ensuring completion on time, on budget, and to quality standards. Lead design and execution efforts including scope, schedule, and budget management, and oversee external engineering firms. Facilitate pre-bid meetings, prepare scope documents, and manage bid packages, contract issuance, and invoice approvals. Drive continuous improvement through productivity measures, process training, and quality accountability. Align resources to meet technical performance objectives within constraints and oversee asset management with internal accounting. Provide technical services to resolve design issues and verify document accuracy against contract drawings. Organize staff assignments for personnel and product development while communicating with foremen, inspectors, and regulators.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
- 5+ years of progressive leadership experience in manufacturing engineering, engineering management, or a related discipline
- Ability to easily read and understand blueprints and specifications
- Experience in a Food or Beverage processing facility
- Ability to multi-task by overseeing several projects
- Highly motivated, organized, and self-starter
- Experience with ammonia refrigeration systems
- Knowledge of environmental regulations and reporting practices
- Willingness to work occasional weekends
- Strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail
- Knowledge of AutoCAD or Inventor
- Lead by example and follow company policies and ethical standards
- Ability to travel short notice, both domestically and abroad
- Must be willing to relocate to the surrounding area
- Proficient in MS Office Software Packages, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Must be able to lift heavy objects
- Must have excellent stamina and vision
- Must have good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arms and fingers, two hands) and multi-limb coordination
- Must have the ability to quickly move arms and legs
- Must have hearing protection available (implied requirement for loud environment)
Desired Qualifications
- General understanding of NEC code, EPA, and OSHA and their best practices preferred
- General understanding of mechanical design is preferred
