Job Summary
Lead and manage a team of developers while developing engineering strategies to ensure efficient product delivery across digital sportsbook, gaming, and retail areas. Coordinate and prioritize engineering requirements across domain squads in Ireland, Serbia, the UK, and other locations to meet quality standards and strategic goals. Establish engineering best practices, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to define priorities and execute growth plans. Deputise for the CTO as required and engage with third-party vendors to support product development and business strategy.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience in a leadership role, managing and mentoring a team of developers
- 10+ years in delivery management or engineering leadership
- Industry experience in fast-paced, regulated industries such as gaming, fintech or sports betting
- Strong technical background and understanding of software and hardware development processes
- Proficiency in project management methodologies, tools, and techniques
- Demonstrated ability to drive innovation and lead change in a dynamic environment
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders at all levels
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to make informed decisions and recommendations
- Proven track record of successfully delivering complex projects on time and within budget
- Understanding of industry regulations and compliance standards
- Ability to think strategically and align engineering activities with business objectives
- Fast learner to understand current architecture and processes and plan for core architecture activity to support the company growth plans
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field
- Certifications such as PMP, AWS or Agile/Scrum
- Experience coordinating delivery across multiple engineering locations or hubs
- Familiarity with domain-driven organisation and team topologies
