Job Summary
Own the GenAI platform including LLM and MCP gateways, agent platforms, and plugin marketplaces to shorten the path from idea to production. Lead embedded engineers across marketing, HR, finance, and operations to redesign functions AI-native, shipping against business KPIs and generalizing builds back into the platform. Build GenAI proficiency through curriculum and cohorts while co-creating group strategy with global leadership and owning budget decisions. Manage Engineering Managers and Staff Engineers in Berlin and Warsaw, holding teams accountable for delivery, standards, and health. Enforce guardrails, evals, model routing, and cost control in collaboration with Security, Legal, and Procurement. Report directly to Ingmar Krusch (SVP Engineering) with decision authority to shape group-wide strategy.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years in software engineering
- 5+ years leading Engineering Managers
- Experience leading Engineering Managers across more than one discipline
- Track record of holding teams accountable for delivery and technical quality
- Experience designing, building, and shipping agentic systems
- Understanding of context engineering
- Understanding of tool calling
- Understanding of agent orchestration
- Understanding of retrieval
- Understanding of evaluation harnesses
- Experience building internal platforms that engineers adopted
- Ability to distinguish a platform team that ships features from one that removes friction
- Experience leading a transformation programme
- Experience leading a large enablement effort
- Experience leading a function-wide process redesign
- Credibility in a design review
- Experience guiding senior stakeholders through decisions they were initially sceptical about
- Experience owning technology or AI strategy at an organisation or business unit level
- Experience with build vs. buy decisions
- Experience with sequencing that takes pilots into production
- Low ego
