Job Summary
Establish and communicate a clear vision, priorities, and operating principles for the Engineering organization while building a high-performing leadership team through coaching, feedback, and succession planning. Lead organizational change initiatives, partner with Product and Executive Leadership to align engineering execution with business objectives, and provide technical guidance on architecture and strategy. Coach engineering managers, manage recruiting and hiring efforts, and foster a culture of trust, collaboration, and continuous improvement across all Epiq locations. Candidates must have 15+ years of engineering experience with at least 5 years leading teams, strong executive presence, and the ability to navigate complex organizational dynamics. This role requires approximately 25-50% travel to support on-site collaboration and is open to remote US-based candidates. Join a trusted partner with 30K+ fielded devices serving government and commercial enterprise customers in maritime, land, air, and space domains.
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated success leading managers, developing technical leaders, and building leadership capability within a growing engineering organization
- Experience leading organizational change, including restructuring teams, implementing new processes, and driving adoption of new ways of working
- Demonstrated experience establishing operating rhythms, performance metrics, and accountability mechanisms that drive organizational effectiveness
- Strong executive presence with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization
- Experience navigating complex organizational dynamics and aligning cross-functional teams around shared objectives
- Demonstrated ability to provide difficult feedback, address performance concerns, and drive meaningful behavioral change
- Track record of developing leadership bench strength, succession plans, and internal talent pipelines
- Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning, including actively seeking feedback, adapting behavior, and applying lessons learned to improve leadership effectiveness
- Minimum of 15 years of engineering experience, including at least 5 years leading engineering teams, managers, or technical organizations
- Experience leading and scaling engineering organizations through growth, organizational change, and increasing complexity
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute engineering strategies, organizational priorities, and operating models that drive measurable business results
- Excellent project and organizational management skills, with experience delivering complex initiatives on time and within budget
- Experience with budget management, resource planning, and organizational prioritization
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to communicate technical and business tradeoffs to diverse audiences
- Strong technical acumen with the ability to effectively guide technical discussions, evaluate tradeoffs, and contribute to engineering strategy when needed
- Experience with engineering workforce planning, recruiting, hiring, and talent development
- Understanding of compliance, security, and industry-specific regulatory requirements
- Ability to foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, innovation, continuous improvement, and customer-focused product development
- Demonstrated ownership, accountability, and commitment to team and organizational outcomes
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field
- Candidates may be located remotely within the United States; however, travel (approximately 25-50%) is expected to support on-site collaboration with employees, customers, and business partners
