Job Summary
Director of Engineering leading both Design and Manufacturing Engineering to standardize and improve product design, BOM structure, build processes, and shop-floor execution. Drives design for manufacturability, maintains engineering change control, and ensures regulatory and internal quality standards. Provides strategic leadership in engineering operations, Lean process standardization, and QAD ERP integration, partnering with Sales, Production, Supply Chain, and Quality to align priorities, improve throughput, and manage budgets. Requires a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering (PE preferred), 7+ years in engineering with 3+ years in leadership, CAD (SolidWorks), and ERP experience (QAD); hands-on welding, fabrication, and assembly knowledge. Key competencies include cross-functional collaboration, project management, process improvement, and operational excellence.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; PE preferred
- 7+ years of engineering experience, with 3+ years in leadership
- Strong background in manufacturing and fabrication environments
- Proficiency in CAD (SolidWorks preferred) and engineering change management systems
- Experience with ERP systems (QAD preferred)
- Hands-on knowledge of welding, fabrication, and assembly processes
