Job Summary
Oversee the Growth and Patient Portal teams while owning QA and Product Support functions across the entire application engineering org. Lead through managers to coach and develop the next generation of engineering leaders and senior ICs, setting a high technical quality bar and staying hands-on to resolve cross-team technical problems. Identify unclear ownership and close documentation gaps, partnering with product, design, and clinical teams to ensure a seamless patient experience from initial outreach through ongoing care. Drive consistent quality and velocity across the organization while building a positive, thriving culture.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of software engineering experience
- 4+ years of engineering management experience, including experience managing managers or leading multiple teams
- A strong, current technical background—you can still get hands-on and are credible with your senior engineers on architecture and code
- Hands-on experience with React
- Hands-on experience with TypeScript
- Hands-on experience with AWS
- A track record of overseeing teams that consistently deliver business value with low defect rates and high reliability
- Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, and the ability to scale your impact through delegation, written communication, and clear expectations
- Comfort with hard conversations—proactive about accountability and holding teams to a high performance bar
- Experience owning or partnering closely with QA and/or Product Support functions
- Experience working in a HIPAA-compliant environment
- Enthusiasm for AI-assisted development and experience adopting tools like Claude Code across teams
