Job Summary
Director of Educational Technology provides district-wide leadership for integrating technology with teaching, learning, and operations. Leads planning, implementation, and management of digital tools and infrastructure to support student outcomes and staff efficiency. Collaborates with district and school leadership to align technology with instructional goals, oversees instructional technology coaches, designs professional development on software platforms, digital pedagogy, AI in education, cybersecurity, and blended/online learning; guides district CS/CTE pathways; develops a district-wide professional development plan; manages core data systems (SIS, LMS, infrastructure), vendor relations, and budget; ensures compliance with state/federal mandates and data privacy; leads innovation in emerging technologies like generative AI, AR/VR, and analytics; fosters collaboration across facilities, curriculum, student services, and families; evaluates and refines program performance to meet strategic goals; leads testing coordination and district reporting on technology and assessments.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher in education technology, information technology, or related field
- experience leading educational technology initiatives in K-12 settings
- strong leadership and strategic planning skills
- experience with instructional technology tools, digital platforms, cybersecurity, data privacy
- ability to manage budgets, vendors, and district-wide initiatives
- experience with PowerSchool, LMS, and other educational technology systems
- professional development design and delivery experience
- knowledge of AI in education, AR/VR, and data analytics in learning environments
- ability to collaborate with district leadership and multiple stakeholders
