Job Summary
The Director of Economic Development and Urban Revitalization (EDUR) leads the department's strategic efforts to attract investment, drive jobs, and expand the tax base. Responsibilities include translating City priorities into measurable outcomes, developing and executing the Economic Development Strategic Plan, establishing annual priorities and dashboards, leading cross-departmental collaboration, guiding urban renewal and incentive tools (including TIF), coordinating with partners and elected officials, managing the department’s budget and staffing, and serving as the city’s senior representative on economic development initiatives. The role requires comprehensive knowledge of economic development, project leadership, negotiation of incentives, financial and risk analysis, and strong communication and presentation skills to stakeholders and the public.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in economics, planning, public or business administration, or related field
- Ten (10) or more years of experience in progressively responsible positions in an economic development, redevelopment or planning agency, or related private sector experience
- Experience with mediation, conflict resolution, and effective problem solving
- Experience with effective problem solving, contract negotiations, site selection, strategic planning and leading interdisciplinary teams
- Demonstrated success working in a community with demographics similar to the City of Greeley
- Five (5) years or more supervising a high performance team
- Possession of a valid driver’s license
