Job Summary

Director-level business development role responsible for creating and expanding multi-year partnerships with K-12 school districts across Northern/Central NJ, NYC, and Hudson County, NY. Drive long-cycle sales processes by engaging district leaders (Superintendents, Special Education Directors, Student Services leaders, and administrators) to identify challenges related to student mental health, special education, staffing, and student support services, and to align ESS solutions with district priorities. Build and maintain a healthy revenue pipeline through new district acquisitions and expansions, develop territory plans, and guide opportunities from prospecting through renewal. Lead consultative conversations, position ESS as a strategic partner, collaborate with clinical, operations, and marketing teams, and manage stakeholder maps to influence district-level decisions. Maintain Salesforce-based opportunity tracking, forecasting, and account plans; demonstrate success in building partnerships, renewals, and sustained growth while meeting revenue targets.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in consultative sales, business development, strategic partnerships, or account management within education, mental health, special education, student services, edtech, SEL, curriculum, or related sectors
  • Experience working directly with K-12 school districts and district-level decision-makers
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding quarterly and annual revenue targets
  • Experience managing long-cycle sales processes involving multiple stakeholders and decision-makers
  • Experience using Salesforce or similar CRM systems for pipeline management, forecasting, and account planning
  • Strong verbal, written, presentation, and negotiation skills
