Job Summary
Lead a team of Train Dispatchers by executing the Daily Operating Plan, managing bulk train slotting, and overseeing safety, service, productivity, and financial metrics. Conduct safety discussions, audits, and rules reviews while maintaining qualifications for GCOR, OTS, and HazMat standards. Monitor crew lineups, validate power plans, and coordinate with third-party carriers to ensure timely completion of over-the-road work events. Promptly report incidents, manage emergency response processes, and execute derailment checklists within required timelines. Oversee accuracy across NEXUS, TRAM, CTC, and CMA systems while addressing exceptions and communicating contingencies. This safety-critical role requires a high school graduate with five years of railway experience and two years in a dispatching center, located in Kansas City, Missouri.
Required Qualifications
- High School Graduation or General Equivalency
- 5 years of railway experience and/or strong transportation industry-based knowledge
- 2 years' experience in a Railway Dispatching Center
- Ability to cope with stress, and continue to deal effectively in emergent situations
- Strong leadership skills, able to engage unionized staff as well as influence leaders
- Medical and Drug Testing
