Job Summary
Director of Development leads fundraising strategy and donor engagement for Special Friends Foundation, overseeing major gifts, annual giving, campaign fundraising, donor stewardship, and development operations. The role partners with the Executive Director, Founder/Board Chair, and Campaign Cabinet to translate organizational growth goals into philanthropic investments, build a sustainable culture of philanthropy, manage donor communications and reporting, and steer CRM/donor database activities, grant-writing, events, and planned giving. Travel across Eastern Pennsylvania is required with a flexible hybrid schedule based in King of Prussia, PA. Requires a Bachelor's degree and five to seven years of nonprofit development experience, along with demonstrated success in donor engagement, major gifts, and fundraising leadership.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Five to seven years of progressively responsible experience in nonprofit development, advancement, fundraising, relationship management, or related fields
- Demonstrated success in donor engagement, major gifts, campaign fundraising, stewardship, community engagement, or organizational growth
- Ability to work independently with initiative, strong communication, and stakeholder engagement
- Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills
- Experience with donor databases/CRMs and fundraising reporting tools
- Familiarity with intellectual and developmental disabilities services, family-centered care, or community-based supports is a plus
