Job Summary
Director of Development for Health Sciences at UConn Foundation. Manages a 75–100 prospect portfolio with a focus on $100K+ gifts, aiming to raise $2M–$5M annually for UConn Health Sciences; conducts qualification meetings, prepares donor proposals, and collaborates with UConn Health, alumni relations, and central Foundation teams to align fundraising strategies. Responsible for cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding donors; maintains CRM documentation; adheres to HIPAA and patient privacy requirements; travels as needed and supports move-management initiatives. Requires a Bachelor’s degree (advanced degree preferred), 5+ years of major gifts experience, proficiency with CRMs (Blackbaud) and MS Office, and strong interpersonal and communications skills.
Required Qualifications

- 5+ years of experience as a major gift fundraiser or transferable skills
- Demonstrated ability to solicit gifts of $100,000+ and move-management planning
- Proficiency with donor management systems (CRM) and Microsoft Office
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to travel extensively and maintain reliable transportation
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of donor information
- Must possess valid driver’s license and maintain insurance as required
