Job Summary
Director of Development responsible for planning, leading, and executing comprehensive fundraising strategies to support the organization’s mission. Develops and implements annual fundraising plans, cultivates donors, identifies grant opportunities, leads campaigns (annual, capital, special), coordinates fundraising events, and ensures donor stewardship. Builds relationships with donors, community partners, foundations, corporations, board members, and volunteers; collaborates with executive leadership to set fundraising goals, identify revenue opportunities, and ensure sustainability. Manages donor management systems, tracks performance, prepares reports, ensures compliance with grant and donor requirements, and develops marketing/communication strategies to support fundraising efforts.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Nonprofit Management, Business Administration, Communications, Marketing, Public Administration, or a related field
- Five or more years of progressively responsible fundraising or development experience
- Proven success in securing major gifts, grants, sponsorships, and donor contributions
- Strong relationship-building, communication, and presentation skills
- Experience working with nonprofit boards, community leaders, and volunteers
- Proficiency with donor management software and fundraising databases
- Ability to analyze data, develop fundraising strategies, and manage multiple projects simultaneously
