Job Summary
Lead annual fundraising programs and activities, including foundation, corporate, government, and individual donor solicitation, major gifts, planned giving, and special events. Create and implement a long-range strategic development plan with a detailed calendar, while overseeing the Major Gifts program through donor and prospective donor relationship management. Generate solicitation materials and correspondence, supervise the Development Associate, and manage the grant calendar to ensure timely application submissions. Coordinate funder and donor site visits, attend all fundraising and cultivation events, and meet fundraising goals set by the Fundraising Committee, Board, and Executive Director. Work hybrid 2-3 days per week with evening and weekend availability for donor stewardship and events.
Required Qualifications
- At least six years of prior development experience
- A minimum of three years of experience in a frontline development position with a proven track record in soliciting and closing major gifts
- Experience working with external stakeholders
- Prior experience administering government and foundation grants
- Demonstrated commitment to CDEL's client base, including working with older adults and people with disabilities
- Confident and authentic presentation skills and ability to represent CDEL in a variety of settings including large group presentations and individual meetings
- Ability to engage clearly with CDEL staff and stakeholders through excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects and complete assignments in a timely manner, including responding to unexpected events
- Prior supervisor experience

- Demonstrated experience working with volunteer leaders a plus
