Job Summary
Develop and implement engagement strategies for donor portfolios, meeting 75-100 prospects annually to raise $1M in new gifts and commitments above $100,000. Partner with the communications team and Rutgers Foundation to drive donors to events and create funding proposals for corporations and foundations. Coach leadership on donor relations best practices while managing budgets, staffing, and complex projects with moderate supervision. Work evenings, weekends, and odd hours to meet resource-raising commitments, maintaining an office-centric hybrid schedule.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- 6+ years of professional experience in fundraising, alumni relations, non-profit organizations, event planning, higher education, or related fields
- Must be able to meet a personal fundraising goal of $1M
- Must be able to hold 75-100 unique and substantive meetings with prospects/donors annually
- Must be able to raise a minimum of $1M in new gifts and commitments annually
- Must be able to secure gifts at or above the $100,000 level
- Must be available for evenings, weekends, or odd hours
- Must be available for early mornings and late evenings
- Must be able to work between one and five days a week in the office
- Must be able to manage a personal major gift donor/prospect portfolio
