Job Summary
Direct the full lifecycle of capital projects from feasibility through closeout, managing multiple facilities across the regional network including hospitals and outpatient centers. Oversee design coordination with architects and engineers while ensuring strict compliance with New York State Department of Health Facility Guidelines, FGI standards, and NFPA life safety codes. Lead construction oversight by partnering with contractors to supervise site activities, conduct regular inspections, and drive weekly progress meetings. Manage project budgets, financial forecasting, and risk mitigation strategies to deliver projects on time and within scope. Serve as the primary liaison between internal stakeholders and external vendors, reporting regularly to leadership and board committees. Integrate sustainability and energy efficiency strategies into project planning. Extensive weekly travel required.
Required Qualifications
- 2 Year/Associate Degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management or related field
- Minimum 5 years experience in design and construction
- Proven leadership in managing complex projects
- Strong understanding of codes, standards, and construction methodologies
- Experience with government-funded or publicly bid projects
- Ability to present and communicate with senior leadership teams, including board-level committees
- Minimum 5 years healthcare experience
- Valid NYS Driver's license
- Extensive Travel - You should expect to travel every week
- Medium Work - Exerting up to 50 lbs. for force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. of force frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs. of force constantly to move objects
- Occasional balancing, crouching, grasping, lifting, pulling, pushing, reaching, repetitive motion, stooping, fit testing
- Frequent climbing, typing/clerical/dexterity, kneeling, seeing/monitor/computer use, standing, visual acuity, (color, depth, perception)
- Constant hearing, talking, walking
- Occasional bodily fluids/bloodborne exposure, chemical, electrical, mechanical
- Occasional vibration, gases, mists
- Frequent extreme temperatures, noise, wet and/or humid, dust, fumes, odors
Desired Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, Business or related field

- PMP Certification or equivalent
- LEED Certification or CHC (Certified Healthcare Constructor)
- Licensed Architect or Professional Engineer
