Job Summary
Director of Data & AI (maternity cover) leads analytics, engineering, and ML/AI across the data team, owning prioritisation and delivering on initiatives while championing privacy-by-design and GDPR compliance. The role is hands-on in leadership, manages people across three functions, facilitates cross-team collaboration, and represents data in management discussions to align with business outcomes. Located in Berlin with a hybrid work model; fixed-term contract up to 12 months to cover maternity leave. Responsibilities include prioritising delivery, unblocking problems, guiding technical direction for new initiatives, and partnering with the DPO for privacy practices.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in data
- at least 3 years in a leadership role managing multiple data functions
- Hands-on leadership across analytics, engineering, and ML/AI
- Strong analytical thinking across business and product analytics
- Experience with GDPR and data privacy in practice
- Experience in a regulated or health-adjacent environment
- Ability to communicate clearly with stakeholders across the business
