Job Summary
Director of Curriculum at Capital Preparatory Schools leads and standardizes K-12 curriculum, assessments, and lesson plans across the network. Responsibilities include observing illuminators weekly, identifying trends in implementation, providing targeted feedback, serving as content-area expert, designing illuminator content, overseeing curricular resources, leading professional learning for leaders and teachers across the network, conducting curriculum audits, using data to inform instructional practice, coordinating on-boarding and ongoing professional development, and facilitating learning walks with senior leaders to assess and improve teaching and learning. Requires significant instructional leadership experience, CCSS/CT/NY standards knowledge, development of learner-centered and equity-focused curricula, and ability to lift up to 50 lbs; 12-month, full-time, in-person role; reports to supervision structure outlined. Required Qualifications
- Significant teaching and instructional leadership experience required (including at least 7-10 years of successful classroom teaching and instructional leadership, preferably including principal or dean experience)
- Administrative credential or certificate of eligibility, preferred; Master’s in Education or related field, preferred
- Deep knowledge of culturally responsive pedagogy
- Deep knowledge of CCSS and CT and NY standards/framework. Experience as content area teacher/coach preferred
- Deep knowledge of K-12 curriculum, instruction, and assessment practices aligned to Capital Prep instructional practices
- Charter school experience, a plus
- Capital Prep model experience, a plus
