Director of Cost Management

Job Summary

Lead and develop a cost management team delivering services for large-scale construction projects while ensuring service excellence and client engagement. Drive strategic and operational management across sectors including resource planning, financial management, and business generation. Conduct market research, produce thought leadership reports, and manage internal databases to share key learning. Oversee quality control, participate in ISO audits, and coordinate external certification authority audits. Develop priority plans, implement risk mitigation, and track performance via KPIs and appraisal documents. Manage revenue, margins, and resource requirements using internal software while preparing proposals and RFP responses. Partner with talent acquisition to plan staffing needs and mentor current staff to promote upward career trajectories. Act as a brand ambassador to create client pipelines, identify cross-selling opportunities, and deliver presentations to senior leadership.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, cost management, quantity surveying, engineering or field related to construction
  • 15+ years of relevant cost management or quantity surveying experience
  • 2+ years managing high performing cost management teams in a consulting environment
  • Prior people management experience
  • Proven track record of managing successful cost management service delivery for clients
  • Exceptional Business development acumen and ambition to drive business growth
  • Major construction sector experience working with high caliber clients in commercial real estate, data center, life sciences, industrial manufacturing, natural resources, etc.
  • Demonstrates excellent presentation, verbal, written, organizational, and communication skills
  • On-site presence
