Job Summary
Director of Contracting leads multi-state payer contract negotiation and management for a network of physical therapy clinics; serves as primary liaison with commercial insurers, government payers, and managed care entities to drive reimbursement strategy across markets; responsible for evaluating fee schedules, negotiating rates and value-based arrangements, maintaining a centralized contract database, and supervising contracting staff; requires a Bachelor’s degree and 7+ years in managed care contracting with leadership experience, plus deep CPT coding and Medicare reimbursement knowledge; travel for payer meetings and market visits is expected.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business, finance, or a related field
- 7+ years of managed care contracting experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role
- Demonstrated experience negotiating outpatient therapy or ancillary service contracts
- Deep knowledge of CPT coding, fee schedules, and Medicare reimbursement for PT services
- Experience managing multi-state payer portfolios and navigating varying state regulations
- Strong financial modeling and analytical skills; proficiency in Excel and contract management systems
