Job Summary
Director of Construction MILCON overseeing DoD/military federal MILCON programs nationwide. Senior leadership role with full ownership of MILCON projects from pre-construction through closeout, accountable for schedule, budget, quality, safety, and compliance. Sets strategic direction for MILCON operations, leads a national team of Senior Construction Managers, Superintendents, Purchasing Agents, and Quality Control Managers, and interfaces with DoD contracting authorities and government program managers. Requires a bachelor’s degree and 15+ years of construction management experience, with deep knowledge of FAR/DFARS/UFC/UFGS/EM 385-1-1 and related government standards. Travel across the United States is required; role emphasizes autonomy, strategic oversight, and rigorous contract/compliance execution.
Required Qualifications
- 15+ years construction management experience, with substantial leadership responsibility on federal or military construction programs
- 8+ years of direct experience managing MILCON or other federal construction projects as a prime or major subcontractor
- Demonstrated ability to operate with a high degree of autonomy
- Deep working knowledge of FAR, DFARS, UFC, UFGS, EM 385-1-1, and USACE/NAVFAC project delivery standards and contracting requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field
- Strong leadership presence and ability to engage at high government levels
- Willingness to travel extensively to project sites across the United States
