Job Summary
Develop and maintain a comprehensive enterprise compliance program across all lines of business, establishing policies, standards, and procedures that Internal Audit can independently test. Interpret federal and state insurance laws to assess enterprise-wide impacts, translate regulatory changes into actionable guidance, and oversee responses to regulatory inquiries and examinations. Lead the compliance team by setting priorities, defining roles, and fostering collaboration with Product Management, Underwriting, Claims, and IT to embed compliance into strategic planning and operational initiatives. Ensure timely remediation of issues, accurate regulatory reporting, and a culture of accountability while serving as a primary advisor to executive leadership. Requires a Juris Doctor or equivalent, seven years in insurance compliance, and ability to travel to Pennsylvania, Ohio, and South Dakota offices.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Juris Doctor or equivalent
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in insurance compliance, legal, regulatory, or related roles
- Demonstrated experience developing or managing a compliance program
- Strong knowledge of property and casualty insurance regulations and operations
- Strong analytical ability with capacity to interpret complex regulatory requirements
- Ability to translate regulatory expectations into business practices and controls
- Proven leadership and team management capabilities
- Strong communication and presentation skills suitable for executive audiences
- Ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders and drive alignment
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and complex initiatives
- Ability to work flexible hours
- Travel to all organization offices (including Pennsylvania, Ohio, and South Dakota)
- Travel to vendor work sites
- Ability to move throughout the office to access work materials
- Move work materials weighing up to ten pounds daily
- Ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation
