Job Summary
Director of Commissioning to lead Meade’s commissioning strategy, standards, and delivery for mission-critical data center projects. Role responsibilities include establishing organization-wide commissioning policies, defining high-level commissioning plans, monitoring KPIs and risk, leading talent strategy and succession planning, and representing the commissioning practice in executive client negotiations. The position requires executive-level oversight of the data center commissioning program (L1–5), stakeholder engagement, staffing and deployment of commissioning teams, and coordination with vendors. Technical leadership as the primary authority for commissioning of complex MEP systems, development of Business Commissioning Plans, and ensuring regulatory compliance (NEC, ASHRAE, NFPA, IEEE). Travel is required based on project needs. Minimum qualifications include 12+ years in commissioning/building engineering or MEP construction with 7+ years in leadership, a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical engineering (Master’s preferred), and proven financial performance management for commissioning operations. Strong knowledge of industry codes, standards, and best practices, plus experience engaging with C-level clients and stakeholders. Required Qualifications
- 12+ years of progressive experience in commissioning, building engineering, or MEP construction, with at least 7 years in progressive leadership roles overseeing teams, budgets, and strategic operations
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or a related engineering discipline (Master’s degree preferred)
- Demonstrated technical expertise across complex MEP systems, including HVAC, CRAC/CRAH units, chillers, boilers, UPS, generators, medium-voltage electrical systems, BMS, and control sequences
- Proven experience owning financial performance (margins, utilization, forecasting, and profitability) for commissioning operations or engineering services
- Strong working knowledge of industry codes and standards (NEC, ASHRAE, NFPA, IEEE, etc.) and commissioning best practices
- Demonstrated success leading multidisciplinary teams in high-stakes, high-pressure environments (data center or mission-critical projects preferred)
- Excellent communication and influence skills with the ability to engage C-level stakeholders, clients, and internal executives
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite; experience with Bluebeam, AutoCAD, Revit, and commissioning management software such as CxAlloy is a plus
- Preferred Qualifications: CCP, CxA, PE license, hyperscale data center commissioning experience, multi-region leadership, training program development, familiarity with construction delivery methods
Desired Qualifications
- Certified Commissioning Professional (CCP) or equivalent (preferred)
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (preferred)
- Multi-region or national program leadership experience (preferred)
- Background in developing commissioning standards, training programs, and process improvements (preferred)
- Familiarity with construction delivery methods and commissioning integration across project phases (preferred)
- Hyperscale data center commissioning experience (preferred)
- Experience leading commissioning programs for hyperscale data centers or large technology clients (preferred)
- Strong client focus with excellent C-level relationship management and negotiation skills (preferred)
- Direct experience with commissioning management software such as CxAlloy (preferred)
