Job Summary
The Director of Collective Bargaining at SEIU Local 73 will lead major negotiations and teach new bargainers, coordinating contract campaigns and establishing union-wide bargaining goals. Key responsibilities include developing training for bargaining teams, creating curricula, and providing on-the-job guidance. Candidates should have substantial union organizing experience with at least five years in negotiations, and a demonstrated commitment to SEIU Local 73's mission. A four-year college degree or equivalent life experience is required, along with strong communication and organizational skills.
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience running successful contract campaigns that engage a broad cross section of workers
- Personal commitment to the mission and goals of SEIU Local 73
- 2 years of experience supervising staff
- 5 or more years of experience negotiating Collective Bargaining Agreements
- 5 or more years of union organizing experience
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Solid math skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Able to stay calm under pressure
