Job Summary
Provide line management for medical staff and coordinate the integration of WACHS mental health services across seven regions. Work with budget holders to allocate staff to sites and ensure strategic development of the inpatient unit, community clinics, and specialized services including infant, child, and adolescent programs. Monitor service delivery in partnership with the mental health management team and Central Office while supporting a workforce of consultants, senior practitioners, and trainees. Lead the development of innovative service models such as Hospital in the Home and assertive community response teams to improve bed flow. Engage in scholarly research and psychotherapy opportunities with Edith Cowan University and the Rural Clinical School to support the next wave of rural psychiatrists.
Required Qualifications
- Eligible for registration by the Medical Board of Australia
- Attained a Fellowship of the Royal Australian New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP) or equivalent
