Job Summary
Lead hospital operations at Catalina Island Health by coordinating patient access, service delivery, and fiscal stewardship across assigned departments. Develop and monitor operational policies, workflows, and standards while overseeing manager recruitment, scheduling, coaching, and succession planning. Drive initiatives to improve patient flow, throughput, and care coordination through data analysis, Lean methodologies, and performance improvement projects. Ensure compliance with CMS, CDPH, OSHA, HIPAA, and accreditation standards while managing operating budgets, labor productivity, and resource allocation. Serve as an operational resource during emergencies, disasters, and mass casualty incidents, partnering with physicians to optimize service line growth and provider satisfaction. Represent the organization positively within the community and support outreach initiatives to improve healthcare access.
Required Qualifications
- Current California Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
- Minimum three years of progressive nursing leadership experience in a hospital or healthcare setting
- Demonstrated experience leading nursing teams, quality initiatives, performance improvement efforts, or regulatory compliance activities
- Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations, patient safety standards, and nursing practice requirements
- Demonstrated ability to build effective teams, develop staff, and lead through change
- Current BLS certification
Desired Qualifications
- ability to obtain California licensure prior to start date
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN)
- ACLS certification
- Strong proficiency with EMR systems, Microsoft Office applications, and healthcare analytics software
