Job Summary
Lead planning, development, and implementation of clinical information systems while collaborating with clinical leaders, the CIO, and the Director of Applications to optimize workflows and drive measurable improvements in patient outcomes. Serve as a subject matter expert to develop clinical decision support tools, manage project budgets and resources, and ensure system compliance with healthcare regulations such as HIPAA and HITECH. Provide strategic direction to the clinical informatics team, including hiring, training, and performance management, while representing the organization in external forums and implementing quality improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in nursing, health informatics, or related field
- Five (5) years of experience in clinical informatics, healthcare IT, or related field
- Strong understanding of clinical workflows and processes
- Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems and clinical decision support tools
- Ability to lead and manage projects, teams, and stakeholders
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Desired Qualifications
- Master's degree in nursing, health informatics, or related field
- Certification in healthcare informatics (e.g., CPHIMS)
- Experience with quality improvement initiatives and patient safety programs
- Knowledge of healthcare regulations and standards (e.g., HIPAA, HITECH, Meaningful Use)
- Experience with clinical data analytics and population health management
