Job Summary
East Regional Director of Engineering provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for Alta's East region engineering practice (Atlanta, Durham, Minneapolis, Baltimore, Nashville). Leads technical direction, financial performance (Net Service Revenue, EBITDA), and organizational growth; develops talent, mentors staff across multiple offices, drives cross-disciplinary collaboration, and ensures high-quality project delivery from conceptual design through construction administration for active, multimodal transportation networks; responsible for budgeting, staff utilization, safety and client engagement, and advancing sustainable transportation initiatives while maintaining compliance with professional standards.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
- Professional Engineering (P.E.) license required
- 15+ years of progressive experience as a Transportation Engineer
- 8+ years in project management roles with P&L responsibility
- 5+ years in leadership positions managing engineering teams and business operations
- Proven track record of business development and client relationship management
