Job Summary
Directs district-wide child nutrition operations across seven campuses and six production kitchens; ensures compliance with USDA and state regulations, oversees menu planning, HACCP and food safety, coordinates special meal programs and summer feeding, manages inventory, procurement, and finances, provides leadership for child nutrition personnel, collaborates with district leadership, and mentors staff to meet USDA Professional Standards for school nutrition personnel.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's Degree, or equivalent educational experience, with academic major or concentration in food and nutrition, food service management, dietetics, family and consumer sciences, nutrition education, culinary arts, business, or a related field.
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- Minimum of two (2) years of relevant school nutrition program experience as required by USDA Professional Standards for School Nutrition Directors in districts with student enrollment between 2,500 and 9,999.
- Completion of at least eight (8) hours of food safety training within five (5) years prior to employment or within thirty (30) calendar days of employment as required by USDA Professional Standards.
- Demonstrated knowledge of USDA Child Nutrition Programs, including the National School Lunch Program, School Breakfast Program, After School Snack Program, Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program, and related federal and state requirements.
