Job Summary

Director of Catering leads catering sales to drive revenue and oversees planning and execution of events from inquiry through post-event follow-up. Responsibilities include developing strategic plans to increase catering and event revenue, prospecting and securing new business across multiple market segments, cultivating relationships with corporate clients, wedding planners, social organizations, and community partners, and coordinating with culinary, banquet, operations, and sales teams to ensure flawless event delivery. The role requires partnering with hotel leadership on strategic initiatives, delivering exceptional client experiences, coordinating site tours and tastings, developing customized proposals and Banquet Event Orders (BEOs), and driving client satisfaction and repeat business. A Bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred, with 5+ years of catering sales experience and strong leadership, negotiation, and organizational skills; bilingual English/Spanish is a plus. The position requires flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and attend client events as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 5+ years of successful catering sales experience in a high-volume resort, beachfront, luxury hotel, or destination hospitality environment.
  • Proven track record of achieving and exceeding catering revenue goals.
  • Strong sales, negotiation, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Exceptional organizational and project management abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple events and priorities simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of banquet operations, event planning processes, and catering sales systems.
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
