Job Summary
Director of Care oversees planning, coordination, supervision, and evaluation of all clinical resources, services, and programs at Smith Creek Village. Leads a compassionate clinical team to deliver person-centered care, ensures regulatory compliance, participates in strategic planning with the Administrator and care partners, supports accreditation processes, and mentors staff. Role emphasizes resident autonomy, dignity, wellness, and collaboration across the community; requires nursing leadership, strong communication, EHR proficiency, and ability to manage multiple priorities. Office-based in Kelowna with occasional travel within British Columbia; on-call responsibilities and performance management of nursing and clinical staff.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of a recognized school of nursing
- Current registration in good standing with BCCNM
- Preference for Bachelor of Science in Nursing or Health Care Administration
- Coursework in Leadership and Management
- Two years’ nursing experience in gerontology
- Five years’ Health Care Management experience; or equivalent combinations of education and experience
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Proficiency with electronic health records and technology platforms relevant to the role
- Criminal record check required
- Exempt position
