Job Summary
Director-level leadership role directing the Office for CARE at Lake Forest College, overseeing programs that foster belonging and inclusion across campus. Responsibilities include supervising staff (including the Associate Director for CARE), designing identity- and equity-centered programs for students and faculty, indirectly advising student organizations, and leading an institution-wide dialogue and educational initiatives focused on identity, power, equity, and communication. The role involves collecting and analyzing campus climate data, developing institutional recommendations, partnering with Academic Affairs, HR, and other campus partners, and delivering workshops and professional development to students, faculty, and staff. Requires master’s-level education, demonstrated intercultural engagement in higher education, and strong communication, collaboration, and project-management skills. The position reports to the Vice President for Campus Life and is located in Lake Forest, IL.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree required
- experience in intercultural engagement in higher education
- experience facilitating dialogue or leading educational initiatives focused on identity and difference
- experience supervising professional and/or student staff
- ability to work collaboratively
- excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
- strong organizational and project-management skills
- ability to work independently and take initiative
- availability to work some weekends and evenings
