Job Summary

Director of Care (DOC) leading the care team in a long-term care home across Manitoba, responsible for resident-centered care, regulatory compliance, and quality outcomes. Builds and guides a high-performing team, ensures adherence to accreditation standards and provincial regulations, helps drive resident safety, family engagement, staff development, and continuous quality improvement. Key responsibilities include leading day-to-day care operations, staff training, financial stewardship of the nursing department, risk management, and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to deliver exceptional resident care; requires nursing leadership experience, strong communication, and proficiency with electronic health records.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
  • Current and unrestricted RN registration
  • Minimum of 5 years of nursing experience
  • At least 2 years in a leadership role in a long-term care facility or health facility
  • Working knowledge of long-term care regulations, standards, and best practices

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (required or preferred)
  • Master’s degree in Nursing or health administration (preferred)
  • Registered Nurse (RN) license in applicable province
  • 5+ years of nursing experience in healthcare
  • 2+ years in a leadership role in long-term care or health facility
