Job Summary

Director of Care (DOC) leads the care team in a long-term care home to deliver resident-centered care, ensure regulatory compliance, and manage care operations. Responsibilities include guiding day-to-day care, training staff, financial stewardship of the nursing department, compliance with healthcare regulations and accreditation standards, risk management, delivering excellent resident and family engagement, optimizing resident care plans, collaborating with leadership, and driving quality improvement initiatives. Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, current RN license, minimum 5 years nursing experience with at least 2 years in a leadership role in a long-term care setting, strong leadership and communication skills, proficiency with EHRs, and a focus on quality outcomes and regulatory adherence.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
  • Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Minimum of 5 years of nursing experience
  • At least 2 years in a leadership role in a long-term care facility or similar health facility
  • Working knowledge of long-term care regulations, standards and best practices
  • Demonstrated leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams
  • Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) systems and related technology
