Job Summary
Complete resident assessments, develop service plans, and direct clinical program delivery to ensure safe, high-quality care aligned with regulatory standards. Manage staffing levels, optimize occupancy and revenue opportunities, and oversee medication administration programs while monitoring labor and supply costs within budget. Supervise staff performance, coordinate care conferences with families, and lead infection prevention initiatives to meet quality metrics and resident satisfaction targets. Collaborate with management on budget preparation and external stakeholder relationships to uphold organizational values and safety protocols.
Required Qualifications
- Current registration as a Registered Practical Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Psychiatric Nurse from the applicable provincial/state professional regulatory body
- Competency to perform skills within their scope of practice
- Minimum of five (5) years relevant clinical experience
- One (1) year of leadership experience
- Experience working in a unionized environment and managing under a collective agreement (where residence is unionized)
- Strong leadership skills
- Ability to communicate the terms of residents' contracts and services to front line staff
- Effective communication skills to respectfully and compassionately deal with employees, older adults and their families
Desired Qualifications
- Leadership experience, preferably in a retirement residence
