Job Summary
Translate company growth goals into actionable business development plans and measurable revenue outcomes. Identify, evaluate, and pursue target customers through direct outreach, industry relationships, and strategic channels to build a disciplined sales pipeline. Own the full sales cycle, including prospecting, discovery, proposal development, negotiation, and closing opportunities across StormWise and FloodWise. Develop deep relationships with utilities, municipalities, agencies, and insurance markets while partnering with engineering teams to respond to RFPs and RFQs. Present unique selling propositions to technical and non-technical buyers and represent the company at priority industry conferences. Meet defined sales targets and provide monthly reporting on pipeline status, forecasts, and market feedback. Approximately 50% travel is required for client visits and conferences.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- 7+ years of business development, sales, or client-development experience in water resources, stormwater, flood forecasting, utilities, engineering consulting, environmental technology, infrastructure software, or a related market
- demonstrated record of meeting or exceeding sales goals
- Existing professional relationships in the water resources market
- relationships with utilities, municipalities, agencies, consulting firms, floodplain managers, or industry associations
- Ability and willingness to learn the technical fundamentals of hydrologic/hydraulic modeling, flood forecasting, SaaS/software licensing, and water resources workflows
- Ability to translate complex technical solutions into clear, compelling sales points for non-technical buyers
- Experience selling to or working with federal, state, and local government clients
- familiarity with public-sector procurement processes, RFPs/RFQs, purchasing cycles, and relationship-based business development
- Demonstrated ability to manage a multi-stage sales cycle and multiple concurrent opportunities
- Strong interpersonal, presentation, and written/verbal communication skills
- Self-starter who can work independently while collaborating closely with Operations and Engineering teams
- Strong organization, time management, CRM discipline, and forecasting habits
- experience using Salesforce, HubSpot, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar CRM platforms
- Approximately 50% travel
