Job Summary
Develop and execute business development strategies to drive sales growth, increase revenue, and expand into new markets in the energy and chemicals industries. Lead the business development department by organizing marketing and sales execution plans, creating persuasive presentations, and guiding teams on financial feasibility studies and proposal development. Proactively maintain client relationships, attend industry conventions, and monitor market trends to adjust strategies and identify competitor capabilities. Provide oversight on proposal activities, track win/loss performance, participate in price-to-win assessments, and review contracts for exceptions. Assist senior leadership in creating strategic direction and develop succession plans for direct reports. Requires 20+ years of experience, 50% national travel, and a Bachelor's degree.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in developing and closing engineering services deals with a value of at least $500K to $20M
- knowledge of contract costing/pricing
- project management

- Twenty (20) plus years' experience related to this industry
- proven track record of generating their own sales opportunities
- current established network of senior/executive level contacts within the chemicals/refining market
- ability to influence others in the face of rapid and aggressive competitive responses
- familiar with contract negotiation
- willing to travel at least 50% nationally
- willing to travel internationally
- Bachelor's Degree or higher in a business-related or engineering field

- Ability to solve problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form
- Ability to understand key financial indicators and use them in forecasting, planning and projecting
