Director of Business Development - PFAS Treatment Solutions - Northeast or Mid Atlantic

Job Summary
Lead business development efforts in the municipal drinking water market by identifying new opportunities, developing strategic customer relationships, and advancing prospects from initial engagement through proposal and award. Build and maintain relationships with utilities, consulting engineers, contractors, and industry partners while conducting site visits, presentations, and discovery calls to support the sale of Sentinel's PFAS treatment solutions and related equipment. Coordinate proposals, pricing strategies, and commercial follow-up, manage sales pipelines and forecasts, and provide direction to internal and third-party sales resources. Represent Sentinel at conferences and trade shows, track regulatory drivers and competitive activity, and translate customer feedback into commercial strategy. Meet or exceed established revenue and account development objectives with approximately 50–70% travel required.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in business development, technical sales, account management, or a related commercial role
- Proven ability to prospect, develop relationships, and advance opportunities through the sales cycle
- Strong customer-facing, presentation, negotiation, and communication skills
- Ability to understand technical products and translate customer requirements into commercial opportunities
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple customers, projects, and opportunities simultaneously
- Experience working collaboratively with engineering, operations, technical, and leadership teams
- Ability to work independently in a growing, fast-paced organization
- Proficiency with CRM systems and pipeline/forecast management
- Willingness and ability to travel approximately 50–70% for customer meetings, site visits, conferences, and industry events
- Candidates must reside within the Northeast or Mid-Atlantic region of the United States at the time of hire or be willing to relocate prior to their start date
Desired Qualifications
- Experience within municipal water, water treatment, environmental services, engineered equipment, infrastructure, or a related industry
- Established experience within the municipal drinking water market
- Knowledge of PFAS treatment, GAC, ion exchange, filtration, or other water treatment technologies
- Experience selling engineered equipment, treatment systems, or industrial capital equipment
- Existing relationships with utilities, consulting engineering firms, contractors, or water industry partners
- Experience directing or coordinating internal sales personnel, manufacturers' representatives, or third-party sales resources
