Job Summary
Director of Business Development to own the top of Cardless’ commercial funnel: identify high-potential brand partners, build relationships with senior decision-makers at consumer brands, financial institutions, and loyalty programs, navigate vendor decisions and formal RFP processes, and drive pipeline from first conversation through signed term sheet. Collaborate with marketing, product, and partnerships teams to ensure credible, differentiated positioning; manage relationships with consulting firms running RFPs; leverage market data and competitive intelligence to prioritize opportunities and sequence outreach; operate as an individual contributor responsible for closing complex enterprise deals and achieving pipeline velocity. Requires 6-10 years in BD/partnerships or sales in financial services, card issuers, or payment networks; strong networking, financial services fluency, and autonomous pipeline management; ability to communicate effectively with executives and craft compelling Cardless narratives. This is an in-office role based in San Francisco, CA.
