Job Summary
Director of Bids leading a small bids team and contributing hands-on on high-priority public-sector bids. Own full lifecycle from identifying opportunities, qualifying them, preparing submissions, to ensuring accuracy across documentation and compliance for projects in schools, municipalities, parks & recreation, and related public-sector sports infrastructure. Role is onsite in Avon, MA and requires deep familiarity with construction bidding and public procurement. Experience with major bidding platforms (ConstructConnect, iSqFt, Dodge, Bid Express, etc.) is required. Strong leadership, regulatory/ documentation discipline, and ability to standardize a fragmented bid process while maintaining hands-on bid preparation.
Required Qualifications
- 5–15 years of experience in construction bidding, estimating, or public procurement
- Strong experience with public-sector bids (schools, municipalities, parks & rec)
- Ability to lead a small team while still doing hands-on bid preparation
- High proficiency with bidding platforms (any major system)
- Strong documentation, compliance, and process discipline
- Ability to manage multiple bids simultaneously
- Clear, confident cross-functional communication
- Comfort transitioning a fragmented process into a centralized, standardized function
