Job Summary
Director of Benefits leading cross-border (U.S. and Canada) benefits strategy and administration, overseeing health, welfare, and retirement programs, vendor management, enrollment processes, regulatory compliance, and global wellbeing initiatives while partnering with HR and senior leadership to drive strategic impact. Requires in-office presence in downtown Chicago three days/week and a Bachelor's degree with 10+ years of benefits design/leadership experience; deep knowledge of HIPAA, COBRA/ERISA frameworks, and HRIS systems; strong analytics, budgeting, and stakeholder-management capabilities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field
- 10+ years of progressive experience in benefits design and administration
- Deep knowledge of health, welfare, and retirement plan management
- Strong understanding of compliance requirements and regulatory frameworks
- Experience working with HRIS systems (e.g., UKG, SuccessFactors or similar platforms)
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- High level of judgment, discretion, and confidentiality
- Collaborative leadership style with strong stakeholder management capabilities
