Job Summary

Director of Behavioral Health Crisis Center leads a crisis services team and oversees operational, clinical, and strategic efforts to expand access to high-quality, person-centered crisis care in rural and underserved communities. Responsibilities include leadership of daily operations and clinical services, development of partnerships with community organizations and healthcare providers, monitoring program quality and outcomes, overseeing staffing and professional development, and driving continuous improvement through data-driven decision making. The role requires a Master’s degree in nursing or a human service field, at least four years in human services or nursing, management experience, a valid Missouri driver’s license, active Missouri clinical licensure (PLPC/LMSW/PLMFT/LPC/LCSW/LMFT or RN), CPR certification within 60 days of hire, and certification in an approved crisis intervention methodology within 60 days of hire. The position is primarily onsite with a standard Monday–Friday schedule plus some evenings/weekends as needed, and emphasizes collaboration, interdisciplinary teamwork, program growth, and community partnership to improve crisis response and behavioral healthcare access. The candidate should be passionate about improving access to care, mentoring teams, and using data and innovation to drive service excellence.

Required Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in nursing or a human service field required
  • At least four (4) years experience in a human service or nursing field required
  • Experience in human service/nursing management required
  • A valid, unrestricted driver’s license and agency established minimum automobile coverage required
  • A current, active clinical license in the state of Missouri (PLPC, LMSW, PLMFT, LPC, LCSW, or LMFT as applicable) or a current, active Missouri Registered Nurse (RN) license preferred
  • Must obtain and maintain current CPR certification within 60 days of hire
  • Must obtain and maintain certification in an approved crisis intervention methodology (CPI, MANDT, or CALM) within 60 days of hire
