Job Summary
Director of Athletics and Recreation Development at Colby College leads the athletics fundraising program, directing identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of major and leadership gifts; builds alumni, family, and donor engagement; collaborates with Athletics leadership and coaches; manages events, boards, and communications to grow philanthropy for Colby Athletics; requires proven advancement experience, portfolio management, staff leadership, travel willingness, and a bachelor’s degree; role includes overseeing a two-person staff and partnering on long-range fundraising strategy to support 32 varsity teams and athletics facilities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree is required
- At least 7 years of experience in advancement (or a closely related field) with proven experience managing a portfolio, closing major and leadership gifts, and managing staff
- Experience in soliciting athletics prospects or managing an athletics fundraising program is preferred
- Flexibility to travel and work evenings or weekends
- Valid driver's license and Fleet Safety Policy compliance
