Job Summary

Lead program managers and staff through recruitment, coaching, and performance reviews to drive exceptional client outcomes from application to team retirement. Oversee program operations, budget management, and resource utilization while ensuring full compliance with Assistance Dogs International standards. Monitor key metrics, prepare executive reports, and build stakeholder relationships with clients, partners, and interdepartmental teams. Serve as an ambassador for the organization within ADI and the broader community, advocating for assistance dog users and supporting fundraising initiatives. Manage program growth, including successor dog planning and retirement strategies, to maintain high standards of canine welfare and program quality.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years in nonprofit program management
  • Proven experience managing teams
  • Willingness to learn or possession of a thorough knowledge and understanding of various types of disabilities
  • Possession of excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Possession of emotional intelligence
  • Willingness to build positive working relationships
  • Knowledge of ADA/Disability Rights
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 Dynamics
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience using EOS
  • Ability to develop and maintain relationships with others
  • Ability to adapt to a situation appropriately
  • Ability to form sound opinions or make decisions by evaluating available information
  • Ability to make sensible conclusions
  • Ability to recognize courses of action which can be taken to handle problems or potential problems
  • Ability to apply contingency plans to solve problems
  • Ability to organize individuals and set goals and priorities to deliver results
  • Ability to motivate and guide others to ensure performance in accordance with clear expectations and goals
  • Ability to provide timely guidance and feedback
  • Ability to identify with or be sensitive to the feelings and experiences of others

Desired Qualifications

  • Preference given to experience in health and human services
  • Preference given to experience in assistance dog/animal assisted services
  • Experience using EOS or willingness to learn
