Job Summary
Director of Architecture in Germany leading and growing the architectural department for AECOM. Lead architectural design delivery across HOAI LPh 1–6 with hands-on leadership, defining the strategic direction of the architecture practice in Germany, mentoring high-performing teams across multiple offices, and ensuring design excellence, technical integrity, and commercial value. Build trusted relationships with domestic and international clients, identify market opportunities, and translate global ambitions into locally compliant, deliverable solutions. Travel within Germany and internationally; requires Bachelor’s/Master’s in Architecture with licensure (Bauvorlageberechtigung), 15+ years’ experience including 8+ years in senior leadership, and fluency in German and English.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture with professional registration or equivalent licensure (Bauvorlageberechtigung)
- 15+ years of professional architectural experience
- at least 8 years in senior design leadership, project leadership, or practice leadership roles
- Proven experience delivering architectural projects across HOAI LPh 1–6 in Germany
- 10+ years of senior client-facing experience
- readiness and flexibility to travel within Germany and internationally
- Fluent in German and English
