Job Summary
Director of Annual Giving will supervise and mentor Annual Giving team members to elevate fundraising efforts into a high-performing, mission-driven program. Leads strategy for Annual Giving across the university, oversees portfolio management for frontline fundraising, and collaborates on marketing/communications with Development teams. Responsible for planning, fundraising events, donor engagement, and achieving revenue goals across units, including Colleges and Athletics. Travels across the state/region and occasionally the U.S. to solicit gifts, manages staff, and partners with peers and senior leadership to align with university development priorities. Requires Bachelor's degree and 5-7 years fundraising experience, knowledge of donor cultivation/solicitation/stewardship, experience with fundraising databases, and strong leadership and analytical skills; openness to a hybrid work model with travel.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- 5-7 years fundraising experience (or equivalent e.g., sales/marketing)
- Demonstrated experience with Annual Giving strategies, donor cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship
- Experience managing professional staff/complex teams
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, analytical, and communication skills
- Experience with fundraising databases and technologies (Blackbaud CRM, EverTrue, GiveCampus, etc.)
- Willingness to travel (local, regional, and possibly nationwide)
- Ability to set strategy and manage metrics/goals
- Commitment to ethics, compliance, and DEI values
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
