Job Summary
Director of Agriculture leads Cedar Circle Farm & Education Center's nonprofit organic vegetable, berry, and flower production, providing strategic direction to a small team of department managers and aligning production with the farm's mission. Responsibilities include guiding production strategy and budgets, setting priorities, coordinating across production, education, marketing, and research staff, mentoring leaders, ensuring certifications and sustainable practices, and advancing climate-resilient farming. The role also involves partnerships/outreach with external stakeholders, support for on-farm research and funding collaborations, and contributing to educational programming and community events. Compensation is $75K-$85K annually, with comprehensive benefits and the potential for 2-bedroom onsite housing.
Required Qualifications
- 5–7 years of experience in agricultural management
- expertise in organic vegetable and/or berry production
- leadership in farm operations
- budgeting and infrastructure management
- deep understanding of organic certification, soil health, and sustainable production practices
- team management and communication skills
- ability to foster collaboration and positive organizational culture
- experience building partnerships and representing organization to external stakeholders
