Job Summary

Partner with executive leadership to shape Ascentria's legislative and public policy agenda while building relationships with lawmakers, regulators, and advocacy partners throughout New England. Develop and lead the organization's advocacy strategy by monitoring regulatory changes impacting healthcare, senior care, and refugee services. Represent Ascentria before legislative committees, coalitions, and public forums, drafting policy briefs, testimony, and executive communications. Collaborate with program leaders to identify priorities and coordinate lobbying partners to maximize organizational impact. Advise leadership on emerging policy issues affecting the nonprofit's mission.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Five or more years of experience in government relations, advocacy, legislative affairs, public policy, or regulatory affairs
  • Experience working with legislators, government agencies, or nonprofit organizations
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional public speaking and presentation abilities
  • Strong political acumen and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to influence without direct authority
  • Passion for advancing equitable policies that strengthen communities
  • Bachelor's degree, English major preferred
