Director of Admissions

Welcome incoming guests and assist prospective guests, families, and referring agencies into facilities following service expectations. Inform guests of their responsibilities and rights upon admission, ensuring the Admission Agreement is executed within 48 hours. Prior to admission, verify all pre-admission requirements are met and documentation is secured. Partner with the Administrator and Director of Nursing to coordinate clinically and financially appropriate admissions. Respond to all admission and re-admission inquiries via phone, text, fax, email, and tours, coordinating with others when referrals are made or placement is requested. Maintain relationships as a liaison between the facility and regional teams for patient referral and admission information. Communicate with internal teams regarding special patient needs, medical equipment, physician objectives, and discharge plans. Work with responsible parties to obtain missing pre-admission documents and input data into PCC. Generate courtesy letters covering coverage determination financial responsibilities and meet with patients to review payer terms and expectations. Initiate the Medicaid Pending Process when required, ensure OBRA/PASSR is received, and maintain the Manual Daily Census Tracking Report. Communicate with operations and Business Development teams to ensure bed availability accuracy and maintain the bed roster. Verify that all required DME is ordered and in place for patient admissions. Ensure the facility is tour-ready, provide clients with specific information, offer tour appointments, and train associates on facility tours. Participate in marketing efforts with the community, families, and hospital staff.
