Director of Admissions

Job Summary

Manage the admissions process by reviewing clinical and financial eligibility, coordinating logistics for room readiness and resident transitions, and converting referrals into timely admissions. Meet budget census goals and quality payer mix while developing relationships with referral sources and conducting facility tours. Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team, hospitals, and community to resolve issues and ensure smooth resident transitions. Complete required reports, maintain marketing plans, and work with various departments to support strategic initiatives. This role requires knowledge of state and federal regulations, the ability to work beyond normal hours, and a valid driver's license.

Required Qualifications

  • High school education
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to utilize collaborative skills when making decisions when circumstances warrant such action
  • Ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/ care team members and the public
  • Patience, tact, and willingness to deal with challenging residents, family and staff
  • Ability to work with frequent interruptions
  • Ability to work beyond normal working hours and on weekends, holidays when necessary
  • Ability to drive and travel
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, perform overhead lifting and perform other common physical movements as needed for the position
  • One to two years' experience in long-term care
  • One to two years' experience in marketing/admissions
  • Knowledge of state and federal regulations that pertain to admissions and marketing
  • Ability to work with individuals at all levels within the organization and with outside contacts
  • Ability to estimate potential costs, insurance coverage, and financial arrangements for residents
  • Ability to collaborate with other departments to support strategic initiatives and provide financial marketing and admission insights for decision-making of admissions
  • Ability to comply with applicable legal requirements, standards, policies and procedures including but not limited to those within the Compliance and Ethics Program, Standard/Code of Conduct, Federal False Claims Act and HIPAA
